This page explains how to use the “Let’s Go!” feature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. It’s a new feature but takes its inspiration from past titles, notably the Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee games.
What is the “Let’s Go!” Feature?¶
While exploring Paldea, you can have one Pokémon from your party follow behind you. Similar to Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver.
Press at an empty space to throw out your first Pokémon. They will then follow behind you and automatically pick up items near them.
Additionally, you can order your Pokémon around using the “Let’s Go!” feature, which is perhaps named after the Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee games.
To trigger “Let’s Go!” simply press . Your Pokémon will travel in the direction you’re facing. They may pick up items and Auto-Battle wild Pokémon by themselves.
What is Auto-Battle?¶
The name basically tells you everything you need to know, but when your Pokémon is engaged in an Auto-Battle, they will fight without requiring any input from you. You can do whatever you want: stay and watch or go elsewhere and do something else.
If you win an Auto-Battle, your Pokémon can gain experience points and items. Auto-Battles are extremely quick–if you’re strong enough, they’ll be over in a single attack. So they’re a good way to farm EXP and items with minimal hassle. However, you cannot catch wild Pokémon in this manner.
