Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

How to Find and Catch Spiritomb

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to find and catch "Spiritomb" IconSpiritomb in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet (SV). Spiritomb can be quite an elusive Pokémon, but this page will offer guidance on its spawn points and also include links to our interactive map for precise locations!

Spiritomb.

Where to Find Spiritomb

Spiritomb is a Pokémon that only comes out at night, meaning you will only be able to find and catch him when its dark. The day and night cycle is 72 minutes in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, so you may have to wait around a little until it gets dark before you can go out hunting Spiritomb!

Spiritomb found at the Ruins south of Montenevera.

Spiritomb can be found in a few different locations, the first of which being at some ruins on Glaseado Mountain, south of Montenevera and northwest of Tagtree Thicket. The second location he can be found is atop a plateau in the northern region of Glaseado Mountain. To get up to it, you’ll need to have learned climb, which is obtained by defeating the Dragon Titan during the Path of Legends story. Another spot Spiritomb can spawn is on the snowy cliffs overlooking Socarrat Trail in the northern region of Paldea.

How to Catch Spiritomb

Spiritomb can be caught like any other standard Pokémon, however you may find it a tad frustrating if Spiritomb knows Memento. If used, this will cause the Spiritomb to faint and also lower its targets Attack and Special Attack stats, meaning you won’t be able to catch it! If this happens, you’ll need to head to another one of the locations and try your luck again.

Spiritomb will use Memento to cause itself to faint…maybe it doesn’t wanna be in a ball for all its life…?

There are some things you can do to prevent Memento. For example if Memento fails, then it will not trigger the Spiritomb to faint. Moves like Protection will block the move and it’s a good move to have if you’re struggling to catch a Spiritomb because it keeps Memento-ing!
