Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

How to Get The Lucky Egg

By
Shane Williams

This is a guide for obtaining the "Lucky Egg" iconLucky Egg Item which is an item you can use to boost the amount of EXP earned after a battle in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

The Lucky Egg can be earned by defeating 5 Gym Leaders.

Where To Get The Lucky Egg

Once you start the game you’ll get a choice of three story paths, Victory Road, Path of Legends and Starfall. In order to get the Lucky "Egg" iconEgg you’ll need to get 5 Badges which is earned by defeating Gym Leaders in the Victory Road Path.

However, you can face the gyms in any order, so we recommend following the order on this page: Best Victory Road Route in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet as this will have you tackle the gyms around your Level. Once you’ve obtained five Gym Badges, then when you enter the next Gym for your next battle you’ll be greeted by Jacq and he’ll hand of the Lucky Egg!

What Does The Lucky Egg Do

The Description of the Lucky Egg is “An item to be held by a Pokémon. It’s an egg filled with happiness that earns the holder extra Exp. Points”, so basically the Pokemon that you have holding the item earn more EXP after any type of battle, such as Tera Raids, Trainers or even fighting Pokemon out in the wild. However, if you sound your Pokemon via the Lets Go Feature, then you won’t get the extra EXP.

The Lucky Egg will provide a 50% Bonus to the holder which makes this an excellent item for those trying to level a certain Pokemon for its evolution or you’re trying to level up high enough to tackle the harder story battles.
