In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you can spend time with the various teachers at Naranja/Uva Academy and increase your bond with them, with Saguaro’s Pokémon Academy bond playing a part. This page will detail how to max Saguaro’s Bond and get the reward from her quest.

Saguaro Pokémon Academy Bond Building

Like most Teachers in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, missing Miriam’s Pokémon Academy bond building is easy to do. Most players are guilty of getting stuck into the three main questlines, shiny hunting, hunting down Tera Raids and more, but it’s worth going back to School.

Maxing out Miriam’s Pokémon Academy bond will reap its rewards with rare or expensive items like other Teachers. This in-game mechanic is a nice change of pace for trainers and delivers the drop of immersion that’s been missing from recent Pokémon titles to a degree.

As a general rule, you’ll want to clear all of that teacher’s classes and ace the midterm and final. Each event usually takes place during this, but it’s much easier to do that first and then you can do all teacher events at once without having to check back. Once you’ve completed all of Mr. Saguaro’s Home economics classes, you can then get to work on maxing her bond with the following steps:

How to Increase Friendship with Saguaro

Step 1

Trainers can kick off the Saguaro Pokémon Academy bond building session by heading over to The Home Ec room and starting a conversation with the man himself. It’s his classroom after all.

Step 2

Following the Home Ec room encounter, trainers should make their way to the Cafeteria to help Saguaro grab a "Peanut Butter Sandwich" iconPeanut Butter Sandwich. Just select the bottom dialogue option to boost that Saguaro Pokémon Academy bond. It turns out that’s the "Sandwich" iconSandwich he really wanted to try.

Saguaro Pokemon Scarlet Academy Ace Tournament Battle.

Step 3

Providing all Home Ec exams have been completed, trainers can then head over to the Staff Room to find Saguaro. He’ll have a conversation with trainers about a certain sweet condiment he can’t get over. This will follow with earning the full trust of the eccentric Saguaro.

Step 4

For the final bit of Saguaro Pokémon Academy bond building, head over to the Home Ec room. This final exchange will reveal the sweet condiment in question is actually a "Sweet Herba Mystica" iconSweet Herba Mystica. Trainers will then need to go find one in 5-Star Tera Raid Battles and return one to him. Players will then receive a "Slowpoke Cup" iconSlowpoke Cup and form a close bond.

The "Slowpoke" IconSlowpoke Cup is a Picnic Item that children will drink out of happily apparently. This also means it doesn’t have any battle effects and it can only be obtained by bond building with Saguaro at the time of writing. To that end, we’ve made sure trainers are prepared by listing all 5-Star Tera Raids alongside what drops to expect, which will come in very handy for step 4 of this guide.
