This is a guide for obtaining the Bottle Caps which is an item you can use to improve your Pokemon’s Strength in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
How to Get Bottle Caps¶
You can sometimes get Bottle Caps as a drop from Five Star Tera Raids. However, this will require you to fight a Level 75 Pokemon which as you may have guessed is very difficult with AI teammates, so you’ll want to do this online if possible, to give yourself a better chance of completing these battles. Make sure to use Battle Items, such a X-Attack, as this will improve the amount of damage you do against the Tera Pokemon.
Unfortunately, you’ll have to farm a lot of these Tera Raids in order to get a good amount of Bottle Caps so this isn’t the best method. Alternatively, once you’ve obtained six badges from the Victory Road Storyline you’ll be able to purchase Bottle Caps from any Delibird Presents Shops for 20,000 Poke Dollars. Additionally, you can get Gold Bottle Caps from the Porto Marinada Auction House.
What are Bottle Caps¶
Bottle caps is a resource you can use to train your Pokémon IV (Individual Value). In order to do this you’ll want to visit the Hyper Trainer who can be found near the Ghost Gym in Montenevera. You’ll need to have the Pokemon you wish to Hyper Train be at atleast level 50 before you can raise one of the following IV: HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Attack, Sp. Speed and Defense. If you’ve got a Gold Bottle Cap, then you can level all the stats at once!
As you approach the end of the game and start tackling the Elite 4 or the 6 Star Tera Raids you’ll notice that your Pokemon may begin to start struggling in these battles, so you’ll want to look into Hyper Training them. As the extra points in these stats could give you the upper hand.
