Scarlet Paradox Pokémon Sandy Shocks

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to find and catch the Scarlet Paradox Pokémon Sandy Shocks in Pokémon Scarlet.

Sandy Shocks is an Ancient Paradox Pokémon.

What is Sandy Shocks?

Sandy Shocks is a Scarlet exclusive Paradox Pokémon found in Area Zero. Paradox Pokémon are Pokémon that are exclusive to the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet game. They resemble pre-existing Pokémon but have different move sets and types. Scarlet Paradox Pokémon are Ancient whilst Violet’s are futuristic.

You will only be able to capture Paradox Pokémon once you’ve got access to Area Zero - the crater at the center of the Paldea Region. You’ll have access to this area once you’ve completed the three story paths:

Once you’ve finished the story quest in Area Zero, you’ll also be able to return at any time by fast travelling to the Zero Gate.

How to Find & Catch Sandy Shocks

Sandy Shocks is probably the hardest Paradox Pokémon to find in Pokémon Scarlet, making it the rarest of the bunch too. It will only spawn near gravelly slopes in Area Zero. Gravelly slopes can be found nearby to Research Station No. 1 and Research Station No. 2. The best way to locate Sandy Shocks is to keep going back and forth between these two gravelly slopes until one spawns. It shouldn’t take too long but you may just have to do a bit of walking back and forth. When you finally find a Sandy Shocks, it should be around Lv 58. Sometimes they can be a bit stubborn so we like to use "Ultra Ball" iconUltra Balls to make extra sure we catch them!

Look out for the Sandy Shocks that occasionally spawn near the gravelly slopes.
