Tera Raid Event: Hydreigon and Dragapult

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers all the information you need to know about the upcoming Tera Raid event featuring "Hydreigon" IconHydreigon and "Dragapult" IconDragapult in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

When is the Next Tera Raid Event?

The sixth tera event will begin from midnight UTC on January 6th through to 23:59 UTC on January 8th 2023. During this event, Hydreigon will appear in Scarlet games whilst Dragapult will appear in Violet. You will encounter these Pokémon during 4 and 5 star tera raids. If you’d like to battle Hydreigon or Dragapult but you don’t have the right version, you can go online and battle with other people who do have the right game version!

Now entering Dragapult and Hydreigon!

During the "Tyranitar" IconTyranitar and "Salamence" IconSalamence Raid event in December 2022, we saw that their Tera types were a 50/50 chance of being either random or a specific set tera type. We can likely assume that the Hydreigon and Dragapult event will follow a similar pattern.

Hydreigon: Scarlet Tera Raid

Hydreigon is a Dark Dark and Dragon Dragon type Pokémon, though we currently don’t know what tera type it’ll take on. We can probably assume that it’ll have some pretty strong dark and/or dragon type moves up its sleeve though.

Hydreigon is a three-headed pseudo-legendary Generation Pokémon that evolves from "Zweilous" IconZweilous and is the final form of "Deino" IconDeino. It was introduced in Generation V. Hydreigon is available in the game already but it is not found in the wild and can only be obtained through evolving Zweilous.

You may also have come across Hydreigon’s Paradox Pokémon counterpart, Iron Jugulis, which is a Violet exclusive Pokémon found in Area Zero.

Dragapult: Violet Tera Raid

Dagapult is a Dragon Dragon and Ghost Ghost type Pokémon, but it could take on any tera type during this event! We can probably assume that it might have a couple of strong Dragon and Ghost type moves in its arsenal though.

Dragapult is a pseudo-legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII. It evolves from "Drakloak" IconDrakloak and is ther final form of "Dreepy" IconDreepy.
