Ahead of its main launch later in the year Blizzard are giving Diablo fans the chance to take part in the open beta test for Diablo IV across two weekends in March. The first will be a more limited Early Access Open Beta that will be accessible to players who have pre-purchased the game as well as others who have obtained a code via various promotions.
The second Open Beta weekend will follow the week after, when hopefully Blizzard has had time to iron out any issues that arose from the more limited play test seven days prior.
Diablo IV Open Beta Times¶
So, two time slots for you to put into your diary then, let’s have a look at which might suit you the best - of course, if you love your Diablo you can always partake in both weekend sessions.
During both weekends you will be able to explore Diablo IV’s early game and campaign via the Prologue and entire Act 1.
There will also be a level cap of 25 placed on Open Beta players, so no matter how carried away you get, that will be your ultimate limit, and indeed goal.
Diablo IV Early Access Open Beta¶
If you have managed to get early access to the Open Beta by any of the available means then you will need to put the following dates and times into your calendar.
Early Access Beta Start | Ends |
---|---|
March 17 at 9 a.m. PDT | March 20 at 12 p.m. PDT |
Diablo IV Open Beta¶
If you have to, or choose to wait until the Open Beta begins proper, then the following weekend is when you need to earmark for your playtime.
Once again your maximum level cap remains at 25, but if you didn’t manage to get there the week before, now is your chance to complete the job in readiness for the game’s full release at the beginning of June.
Early Access Beta Start | Ends |

March 24 at 9 a.m. PDT | March 27 at 12 p.m. PDT |
Is Diablo IV Open Beta Down?¶
We would expect Blizzard to get hit by heavy traffic at the start of the beta, and traditionally we see games struggle with initial demand that could impact the game’s playability in the early minutes or even hours.
This is always a temporary issue however, so if you are having trouble getting in, simply wait it out and try again later. We know this is frustrating due to play time being gated but think of it this way, the beta is there to help Blizzard get the game ready for general release, so any highlighted issues will be worked on before June.
If anything dramatic happens to the servers we will update this section to help keep you all informed.
