The main story conceit in the Season of Blood’s questline is that vampires - led by Lord Zir - are running amok across Sanctuary (along with just about every other horror that goes bump in the dark, apparently) somewhat checked only by the actions of a vague group of “hunters”. While serviceable enough for the purpose of getting you into the action, you shouldn’t expect a lot of depth out of this organization, as aside from Hunter Erys you aren’t formally introduced to many of these hunters. Aside from serving as a narrative thread connecting the season quests, the only noteworthy way the hunters influence the game is as a Hunter Acclaim board that distributes caches as you earn Hunter Acclaim. This page will discuss how to earn Hunter Acclaim in Season 2 of Diablo 4and will cover the rewards you earn from doing so.
How to Earn Hunter Acclaim in Diablo 4¶
As you engage in warfare against the vampires, your feats of daring-do will earn you Hunter Acclaim. This mostly comes from killing enemies, specifically elite vampires (especially Blood Seekers and Ancients) and completing events (Injured Adventurers, Captive Villagers, Corpse Piles, etc.) in Blood Harvest events. Basically running around and engaging in general gameplay in Blood Harvests will earn you Hunter Acclaim - it’s hardly possible to avoid killing enemies and while you can ignore events, since many of them also count as Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, you’ve got plenty of incentive to complete them even without Hunter Acclaim.
To get the ball rolling on claiming rewards from the Hunter Clalim Board, you’ll need to first complete the introductory season quest Blood Money and after you have your Vampiric Powers unlocked complete the quest The Hunter’s Chase, which tasks you with snagging a Blood Lure from a Blood Harvest event - a randomly dropped form of currency used to activate various events during Blood Harvests. This will probably happen after you kill a single group of enemies. Once you bring a Blood Lure to Hunter Petyr he’ll tell you to check out the Hunter Acclaim Board, where you can unlock various rewards by accumulating Hunter Acclaim.
Hunter Acclaim Board Rewards¶
As you accumulate Hunter Acclaims you’ll unlock tiered rewards on the Hunter Acclaim Board, of which there are 18 (XVIII) tiers.
Tier | Reward |
---|---|
I | Hunting Party Cache |
II | Hunters’ Insignia Cache |
III | Patchwork Leggings |
IV | Sanguine Brace (Vampiric Power) |
V | Hunters’ Livery Cache |
VI | Sack of Skeleton Chokers |
VII | Sack of Vampire Spoils |
VIII | Blood Lord’s Armory |
IX | Accursed Touch (Vampiric Power) |
X | Pile of Vampiric Footwear |
XI | Blood Seekers Personal Effects |
XII | Crate of Vampire Spoils |
XIII | Vampiric Signet Cache |
XIV | Pack of Ghoul-Skin Gloves |
XV | Blood Bone Leg Reinforcements |
XVI | Blood Seeker’s Weapon Cache |
XVII | Sack of Vampiric Torques |
XVIII | Lord Zir’s Personal Stash |
Most of these are merely caches that offer rare (Tier I - VII) or legendary (Tier VIII - XVIII) items… or at least promises to, based on their color. You’ll also likely score some Potent Blood for each cache, in addition to the stated rewards. Finally, at Tier IV and Tier IX you’ll unlock the Sanguine Brace and Accursed Touch Vampiric Powers, respectively. These caches won’t make you rich - they probably won’t do much more than provide crafting materials or money when all is said and done, but completing all 18 tiers is part of the Season Journey, so you’ll probably want to complete them anyways. Not that it’s much of a chore, since there’s such strong incentive to partake in Blood Harvests.
