The first ever Diablo 4 Battle Pass information has dropped per Blizzard’s July 6 Campfire live stream chat, alongside the bulk of info for Diablo 4’s first season. When the season launches, players can immediately begin progressing the Battle Pass, and check off things to do in their Seasonal Journal, which will help players get their currency to work through battle pass checkpoints and their seasonal buffs. But, for all those wondering what to expect from the Diablo 4 Season 1 Battle Pass, here’s everything we know so far.
Diablo 4 Season 1 Battle Pass Rewards¶
The Diablo 4 Season 1 Battle Pass rewards are broken down into separate tiers, of which you will find:
- Free Tiers: 27, typically containing Smoldering Ashes
- Premium Tiers: 63, typically containing premium cosmetics
When you reach the free tiers, you can get one of 20 Smoldering Ashes (with a few cosmetics thrown in here or there). Smoldering Ashes are a seasonal currency, which you earn via the free tiers of your battle pass. You can then spend them on unlocking seasonal buffs, typically ranging from more crafting materials from disassembles, longer lasting Elixirs, to XP gains for the season (to name a few). You can also upgrade these to improve their effects through the season too!
As for the Premium Tiers, you will likely earn various transmogs, mounts, and a season-themed armor set for each class, including an awakened version for those that likely push the pass to its extreme. Below is a table featuring how the Season 1 Battle Pass Rewards are broken down, per Blizzard’s website.

Diablo 4 Season 1 Battle Pass Cost¶
As stated by Blizzard Entertainment on May 10, 2023, all Diablo 4 Season pass costs will be as follows:
- Premium: 1,000 Platinum equivalent to around $9.99
- Accelerated: 2,800 Platinum, equivalent to $24.99
Thankfully, the bundle costs for the different premium tiers of battle passes are already accounted for, so you do not need to buy more or less platinum for each version.
This is likely the cost of each battle pass for each season moving forward. Unless Blizzard hikes the prices in future seasons.
Also, if you purchased the Deluxe Edition, you would have access to a Premium Season Pass, while Ultimate Editions will have a progressed Season Pass unlock. According to the details on the Battle net launcher, the Battle Pass unlocks are for Season 1, so, those who bought those editions of the game will get the Season 1 Battle Pass “for free”.
