The Season 1 of Diablo 4 has provided quite a few items if you intend on engaging with the seasonal boss mechanic. As you go through the various campaign quests and world tiers you will unlock recipes to various Varshan Invokers, which you need to summon different tiers of the boss. Here is how to get the Tormented Invoker of Varshan in Diablo 4, unlocking the Uber Varshan fight for Season 1.

So, to get the Tormented Invoker of Varshan, you need to have completed the following steps.

1. Completed the Season storyline
2. Fight the Echo of Varshan on either World Tier 1 or 2, and activate the Foul recipe from defeating it.
3. Craft a Foul Invoker of Varshan using Ichor and 50 Sigil Powder
4. Use a Foul Invoker of Varshan on a Monstrous Growth in World Tier 3 and beat the boss.
5. Claim and activate the Tormented Invoker recipe.
6. Gather the materials to craft the recipe

The process of getting to part 5 of this instructions will require some grinding to do in World Tier 3. The main thing you need to craft a Foul Invoker of Varshan that you likely don’t already have is Sigil Powder. This is a material that begins to appear from event in World Tier 3 onwards. You can also acquire it from dismantling Nightmare Sigils once you complete a level 5 Nightmare Sigil at the Occultist to start accumulating Powder that way.

Once you have gone through that process and defeat the Echo of Varshan on World Tier 3, you will unlock the Tormented Recipe. The Tormented Recipe is what allows you to fight the boss on World Tier 4 in the Malignant Tunnels. This is something you are going to have to do if you want to fight the Uber version of Varshan, which is a boss that comes much later in the game, similar to Uber Lilith.

Once you have the recipe unlocked, you will need the following items to craft the Tormented Invoker of Varshan in Diablo 4.

• 5x Forgotten Souls
• 5x Fiend Rose
• 1x Invoker of Varshan

Forgotten Souls and Fiend Rose are both materials you acquire from Helltides. You can typically find the Forgotten Souls from killig enemies, Helltide bosses, or completing events while Helltides are up. Meanwhile, you can get Fiend Rose the same way, albeit, some of the herb nodes within the boundaries of an active Helltide can turn into Fiend Rose to pick up as you travel through the active Helltides. When you cash in your Aberrant Cinder (which drops from all enemies, events and occasionally from destructable items, mining, and herb nodes) at Helltide Mystery Chests or targeted chests, you can also get random crafting materials such as the Forgotten Souls and Fiend Rose too.

Once you have the spare items, you can craft the Tormented Invoker of Varshan and then take on the boss in World Tier 4. This will summon the Uber version of Varshan, which is the hardest version of the fight, weighing in at level 80. And with that done, you have now completed the strange steps to fight all the version of the Varshan seasonal boss fight.
