Strongholds are a major focus of Diablo 4, they’re former towns or forts that are overrun by enemies and should you be able to cleanse them, you’ll unlock their features as a town with vendors, sometimes a Waypoint or unlock access to new Dungeons, Events, or Side Quests. This page will guide you on completing the Hope’s Light Stronghold in Scosglen.

Hope’s Light Stronghold Objectives¶
- Find a way to the Lighthouse
- Slay Tidewitch Ne’gana
- Ignite Hope’s Light
Where to Find the Hopes Light Stronghold¶
In order to find the Hopes Light Stronghold you’ll want to fast travel to the Braestaig, then head north northwest until you reach the top of the Northshore Area. It is a level 25 Stronghold, but it will scale with your level once you go above that, and could cause you to come across some tougher encounters.
How to Complete The Hope’s Light Stronghold¶
How to Reach The Lighthouse¶
Once you’ve arrived at the Hope’s Light Stronghold you’ll notice that the bridge is broken, so jump across the gap to the left and follow the path ahead to reach a shipwreck that contains a Wrinch. Interact with it then you’ll fight off a few waves of enemies for around 40 Seconds. The easiest way to do this is to spam your AoE Skills, such as Blood Surge on Necromancer or Rain of Arrows on Rogue on the smaller enemies, then switch to using Basic Skills on the tougher enemies like the First Mate.
After you’ve survived the assault, climb across to the center of the area, then you’ll want to jump across the gap and work your way up to the northeast to reach another shipwreck with a Wrinch. However, it is broken so you’ll need to find a replacement, so climb back down and jump across the island to the south, then pickup and Winch can be found sitting on the floor to the far right of the area. Return to the Shipwreck and fight off another wave of enemies.
How to Defeat Tidewitch Ne’Gana¶
You’ll now want to jump across the gap and head up the stairs to reach the main boss of this stronghold - Tidewitch Ne’Gana. Most of it’s attacks don’t deal much damage on their own, but its easy to get hit by multiple things due to the size of the arena. You’ll want to lure the boss away from the puddles which circle the arena and attack the boss with Basic/Ultimate Skills. However, it’ll summon ads throughout the battle, so you’ll want to use AoE’s to get them down quickly. We’ll have a rundown of its attacks below:
- Wave
One of the main attacks the Tidewitch will use throughout the battle is a wave that move in the direction she is facing. It doesn’t deal too much damage, but it can push you back into the nearby puddles which will slow down your movement speed.
- Swing
Tidewitch Ne’Gana will regularly perform a swinging attack. It can be easily avoided if you’re keeping your distance or attacking from behind.
- Puddle
Throughout the battle you’ll constantly see puddles around the outer edge of the arena. These will regularly spawn in adds and will slow down your movement speed if you stand inside it. Additionally, as the Tidewitch gets closer to death she’ll start causing the puddles to explode which will take a large chunk of damage away, so be sure to quickly use a potion afterwards.
Hope’s Light Stronghold Rewards¶
So now that you’ve finally cleansed the Stronghold (or are reading ahead to see if it’s worth it), what are your hard-earned rewards? You’ll be rewarded with 100 Scosglen Renown and the Flooded Depths Dungeon will become available.
