Diablo 4 is the latest entry in the massively popular Diablo series, seeing players take on the hordes of Lilith across Sanctuary, a world that is bigger than ever before. This page will give you all the details around Diablo 4’s Game Pass situation.
Diablo 4 Game Pass Release¶
If you’ve been following the gaming news, you may be aware of the fact that Microsoft are in the middle of an acquisition for Activision Blizzard, the publisher and developer for Diablo 4. With Activision Blizzard possibly coming under the Xbox umbrella, you may be expecting Diablo 4, along with all other Activision Blizzard games, to launch day one on Game Pass, like with most of their other first party titles.
Unfortunately, Diablo’s General Manager, Rod Fergusson has recently come out on Twitter to explain that there are no plans for Diablo 4 to come to Game Pass. This may well be due to the fact that the acquisition is currently going through some issues right now and is not finalized, but it may also be a sign that not all future Microsoft first party games will come to the service in the acquisition goes ahead.
That means if you want to play Diablo 4 at launch, you’ll need to go ahead and purchase it, regardless of the platform you may wish to play on. Despite the game being Cross Platform, it is not unfortunately Cross Buy, so you will have to purchase more than one version if you plan to play your characters across multiple platforms.
How to Get the Wings of the Creator Emote¶
When it comes to purchasing the game, there are various editions to consider and if you pre-order, you’ll not only get into the Beta but also obtain an exclusive mount and other goodies.
If you decide to go for the Deluxe or Ultimate Editions, you’ll gain access to the game four days early and if you purchase the Ultimate Edition, you’ll obtain the very stylish Wings of the Creator Emote to help you look the part.
