The Wrathful Growths you find in the Malignant Tunnels contain some of the strongest types of Malignant Hearts in the game. Yet, they are also the hardest to open, with it the Wrathful Invokers being fairly difficult to acquire. If you’re in that boat, here’s how guide on how to get Wrathful Invokers in Diablo 4.
How To Get Wrathful Malignant Invokers in Diablo 4¶
To cut the long story short, the only real way to get Wrathful Invokers in Diablo 4 is to gamble your chances at the Malignant Research stations. Players can craft a random Invoker by using the Uncertain Invoker option on the menu. The craft has a chance to crate an invoker that targets any of the four Malignant Heart types, and so, can give you the Wrathful Invoker in Diablo 4. However, it is a very low chance, so, its a heavy resource sink.
To create a random chance at grabbing one, you will need the following resources:
- 40x Devious Malignant Ichor
- 40x Brutal Malignant Ichor
- 40x Vicious Malignant Ichor
- 1000 Gold
Keep in mind that the Malignant Ichors come from a variety of locations. They can drop from enemies with the Malignant Tag on them, which you an often find in Malignant Tunnels, Dungeons and Cellars. You can also get Ichors from Events you complete in instanced and outdoor content, and you may also earn them by dismantling Hearts at the Malignant Research Bench.
It is currently unclear if you can get a recipe to craft a Wrathful Invoker, as of right now, the only non campaign related recipe is the Foul Invoker of Varsan.
How To Use A Wrathful Malignant Invoker in Diablo 4¶
If you’re lucky enough to get one, then you may enter a Malignant Tunnel, and use the Invoker on a Wrathful Growth, which are often found in optional end rooms in the tunnels. They typically contain two of the four heart types. So, if you find its ghostly white color, then you can use the Wrathful Invoker on the Growth, and fight a Wrathful enemy. Upon killing it, you will get its caged heart, which will award one random Wrathful Malignant Heart that your class can use.
Note that each Malignant Tunnel typically has one of these rooms inside it. However, they will only contain two of the four Outgrowths. Therefore, you may need to grind some Tunnels if you intend on farming these heart types. Also, keep in mind some only drop from World Tier 3 and World Tier 4 modes. So, we recommend taking a look at the table below, and find a Malignant Heart you want to use in your build, and then activate you Wrathful Invoker while on that World Tier.
