The Diablo 4 Main Quest offers plenty of scenarios and you’ll often be facing off against challenging bosses and encounters that will stand in your way in the As The World Burns Quest which takes place at the end of Act II. This page will navigate you through the necessary steps to finding and defeating Astaroth.
How to Find Astaroth¶
Before you can fight Astaroth you’ll need to progress through the game until you reach the Main Quest As The World Burns which takes place in Act II, then you’ll want to head northwest from the Cerrigar Waypoint and speak Donan. From here, you’ll want to interact with the Lower Cerrigar Gate to initiate the battle
Astaroth Boss Strategy¶
At the start of the battle given a small battlefield, so avoiding its attacks will be a little tricky, as movement is a key part to surviving a lot of Astaroth attack. Astaroth has three main attacks that you’ll need to place close attention to, but these will become harder to avoid as you progress further into the fight. You can learn about all the attacks below:
- Flame Breath
From the beginning of the battle and constantly throughout the demon will be able to shoot out fire in three directions from its mouth. It can reach you from a distance, so you’ll want to dodge to the side of it to avoid it.
Throughout the battle the guy sitting above Astaroth waves his melee weapon above his head and shortly after you’ll notice multiple meteors rain down from the sky. It’ll temporarily leave a ring of fire on the ground, so you’ll want to stay away from out of the AoE Marker or your health will gradually deplete.
- Spear Swing
One of the more common attacks you’ll see Astaroth do is a simple swing of its spear. This will hit anything in front of him, so you’ll want to make sure you’re either standing a good distance away or to the side of him.
These attacks individually aren’t too difficult to avoid, but as you get Astaroth closer to death these attacks will be combined together and will be used more frequently. The first phase of this battle you’ll be in a smaller area, so you’ll want to avoid staying directly in front of Astaroth otherwise you’ll get easily hit by his Flame Breath. As you chip away at the boss’s health you’ll want to follow the boss down a narrow path, then jump over the wall to reach a larger area.
Here the attacks are the same, but he’ll use them more frequently and combine them together. However, you have a lot more room to avoid them, so you’ll want to go in for a couple hits then get back to recover your health. Additionally, ads will start spawning throughout the battle, so you’ll want to make sure you lure them away from the boss and clear them out before continuing to focus on Astaroth.
