To earn these rewards, you need to complete nine of the objectives. The ones we don’t recommend aiming for are Cut the First Ear, as PvP is not popular among casual players. We also don’t recommend doing the Wrath’s Beating Heart. While getting Wrathful Hearts are very important for your build progression in World Tier 3 and 4, they are sadly hard to get. While in your lower 50s you will be getting resources to craft Uncertain Hearts and Uncertain Invokers, but given the drop chances, and the rate that your gear is going to improve, deliberately rolling resources earlier, rather than later in the world tier could theoretically harm your build and your resource grind. It is better to get these later, than to get them as soon as you hit the Slater Chapter.
As for the rest, you will gradually do most of these passively while getting to grips with the start of your end-game journey. Let’s start with the Helltides stuff first. The Helltide missions involve opening any chest, and another opening a mystery Chest. Mystery Chests are always your grand goal for Helltides, as they offer the best reward quantity of legendaries, resources, and unique drop chances. You will only open a specific item slot if a unique item drops from a specific slot. So, doing your first Helltide and getting 250 Aberrant Cinders will complete two of these objectives from your challenge log. Note that all Helltide Mystery Chest spawns at very specific locations, which rotate on the hour. So, we recommend looking at our Heltide Mystery Chest map so you can find them in your Helltide and make that part easier to complete.
Next on the list is the Nightmare Dungeons. There are a good few to tick off as you do the generic end-game content in Diablo 4, regardless of seasonal content. First, you must acquire a Nightmare Sigil, which can come from Helltides, dungeons, world bosses, legion events, or getting into a group with another player. Once you are in, you will get several Nightmare Sigils from a Nightmare dungeon, and accrue that stockpile. Once you complete 5 Nightmare Dungeons, you will get one challenge done. Once you complete a level 5 Sigil, you unlock a priority quest for Sigil crafting. You can now craft sigils as part of the end game, and if you craft 2, that’s another challenge complete. Once you start doing even more NIghtmare dungeons, you will eventually level an appropriate glyph up for your build, and when it reaches level 4, you guessed it, another challenge is done. Check out what build you are running and see appropriate Glyphs for different paragon boards to use before wasting XP where you don’t need to waste it.
Next on the list of challenges to do is to go and do some more Malignant Tunnels. As you start replacing your gear from the leveling process to end-game Sacreds and Ancestral (if you’re in WT4), you will likely need to re-farm your Malignant Hearts for better rolls and leveled versions. Some of them are very good, so you check out the Malignant Heart List and see which ones fit really well with your build. The result is you can run many Malignant Tunnels, such as the 15 you need through the WT3 bracket and eventually tick this off. Moreso, if you head to a Tunnel with a locked gate, you can fight Varshan. But, to we recommend doing this on World Tier 2 first, as the Invoker of Varshan you get only works on World Tier 2, with the Foul Invoker of Varshan for World Tier 3, which requires you to beat Varshan on World Tier 2 beforehand. When you get to World Tier 4, you need the Tormented Invoker of Varshan, which unlocks after you beat him on World Tier 3. So, at some point, run Malignants on WT2, such as the Boiling Wound in the east of Fractured peaks and defeat the Echo of Varshan.
While you’re doing all of this content, you will eventually earn 15 Paragon Points, and likely upgrade several items four times as you get decent gear and rolls on them. This will complete the final challenges to take down the Slayer Chapter of the Diablo 4 Season 1 Seasonal Journey and move you up to the next phase of the battle pass.
