Chief amongst Final Fantasy 16’s greatest challenges are the Chronolith Trials, special arenas where you must complete multiple stages with no healing items and a time limit (that you can increase). Before you can even begin planning how you tackle these trials, you’ll need to locate each trial scattered around Valisthea. This page will show you where to find all seven trials in Final Fantasy XVI.
Before you can go about your search for the Chronolith Trials (you may have come across these in your travels but they’re unresponsive), you’ll first need to progress through the Main Quest until you complete the Fire in the Sky Main Quest. Once you’re back at The Hideaway following that Quest, you’ll be able to access the Chronolith Trials, although not all of them will be available.
Every Chronolith Trial in Final Fantasy XVI¶
The table below will tell you where you can find each of the seven trials, the Eikon it’s for and what reward you can expect. Remember, you’ll first need to acquire the Eikon before you can undertake their trial.

The Final Trials¶
Once you manage to beat one of the Chronolith Trials, you’ll unlock the final option on the Arete Stone back at the Hideaway. This allows you to access The Final Trials, which are far more difficult versions of each of the trails. Here, you’ll be restricted on your equipment along with starting with only 80 seconds on the clock!
There’s not much in the way of rewards here, beyond besting some of the toughest content in Final Fantasy 16! Only undertake this if you want a true test of all of the skills you’ve picked up while playing the game.
