The For Great Justice II side quest in Final Fantasy 16 can be acquired in Lostwing once you reach the Cloak and Dagger main quest. Here you’ll find a person named Quinten and he’ll ask you to bring the villagers back to The Hideaway. We’ll take you through the necessary steps to completion and how to defeat Minas you will encounter during this quest on this page.
Quinten asks that Clive take those Bearers who cannot join him on his quest for vengeance into his protection, before he sets out to see justice done
How to Start the For Great Justice II Side Quest in Final Fantasy 16¶
First things first, you’ll need to have completed the main story mission Things Fall Apart, and be on Cloak and Dagger. When those requirements have been met, head over to Quinten who can be found standing outside The Hanged Man in the Lostwing Region. Speak with him and you’ll learn that he is leaving Lostwing and has asked that you take any vulnerable villagers back to the Hideaway in order to ensure they remain safe.
Once you’ve finished speaking with Quinten, follow the path along to the west until you reach the Gaultand’s Bales sub-region and talk to the Bearers that are gathered around outside of the house. However, whilst you’re informing them of the news you’re told that there is a monster waiting for Quinten and everyone begs you go and help him before something bad happens.
How to Defeat Minas in FF16¶
Here you’ll want to fast travel to The Dragon’s Aery and follow the path along to the southeast until you reach The Imperial Chase Sub-Region and you’ll come to Minas which is an elite enemy. Your first objective is to stagger it, so keep chipping away at the stagger bar with Magic Bursts when you reach the halfway point you’ll want to pull it down with Deadly Embrace and use Gouge to stagger it. Now you’ll want to place Lightning Rod in front of it and activate your Limit Break before using Gigaflare.
This should deplete most of its health, then you’ll want to repeat the process and use any other available abilities to finish it off. However, whilst you’re fighting it you’ll want to watch out for the following attacks as they can be quite punishing if you’re aren’t careful:
- Whipwreck - Minas will electrify its whiskers and sweep the area in front of him. Here you’ll want to stand far away to avoid it.
- Charge - Throughout the fight you’ll see Minas electrify its mouth and then immediately charge towards you. Simply dodge to the side or use Titanic Block to counter it.
- Electro Ball - Sometimes Minas will stand still and fire out an electric ball straight ahead. You can avoid this by not standing in front of it whilst attacking.
Once you’ve defeated Minas you’ll return to Lostwing and discover its been taken over by Akashic Enemies. Thankfully, these are nowhere near as tough as the enemy you just fought, so simply take them by combining Lightning Rod and Gigaflare. After the area has been cleared enter The Hanged Man Inn to find Quinten and the quest will come to a close. You’ll be rewarded with a Meteorite x1, The Breath of Wind (Wicked Wheel) and Curiosity: Hanged Man Signboard.
