After completing Song of Hope in Final Fantasy XVI , you will head back to Ironworks to hand the ship part of to Mid. This main quest mainly consists of cutscenes, with a battle in the middle where you must hold off Akashic enemies while Mid prepares the ship. There are three waves of enemies you need to defeat, before taking on a weakened version of an old boss. The guide below goes over how to hold off the enemy waves in Full Steam.

How to Defeat All Enemies in Full Steam in FF16¶

Before proceeding to Full Steam, make sure to grab any supplies you need from the Hideaway, as you won’t be able to go back for another mission. Once you get to Ironworks, a cutscene will play where Mid tries to quickly ready the ship. Enemies will start approaching the dock and it’s up to Clive and his party to hold them off while Mid finishes preparing to set sail. There are three waves of enemies that you need to deal with during this quest, fortunately you have a full party with you, so it never gets as overwhelming as it looks. The enemies will pour out of the door connected to the dock, and many of them can be taken out as they enter the battlefield by using a move such as Heatwave. The first group of enemies you will be fighting are made up of Akashic Osfrey and Akashic Folkstaf.

Once the initial easy wave is done, more enemies will begin coming out of the door. This time you will face Akashic Sigfreyr Soldiers and Akashic Gandfreyrs. Take out the Gandfreyrs first, and then mop up the rest of the enemies to activate the third wave. This one is more difficult as you will now face Akashic Sigfreyr Soldiers alongside, a Akashic Sveithvaldr. Go ahead and take out the Sigfreyr Soldiers and then face Akashic Sigfreyr Soldiers alongside an Akashic Sveithvaldr.

Go ahead and take the Sigfreyrs and then turn your attention to the Sveithvaldr. This is a larger enemy that can hit hard, and he has a large health bar. Be sure to dodge his attacks, and be careful as he can dodge. Be wary of using any move like Bahamut’s Wings of Light, as you won’t be able to move out of the way of his attacks while charging.

Once you have defeated the three waves of enemies, Sleipnir will emerge from the doors. Don’t worry too much, Sleipnir is an easy enemy in this fight. He will create several clones of himself that are easy to defeat. Just concentrate on wiping them out using your Eikonic abilities until the next cutscene plays where the part boards Mids ship. After this you will be taken back to the world map, the rest of the locations will be cut off during this next segment, so go to The Naldia Narrow when you are ready to start the main story quest, Through the Maelstrom.
