The Bad Blood side quest in Final Fantasy 16 can be acquired in The Dhalmekian Republic once you reach the Cloak and Dagger main quest. Here you’ll find an NPC named Wounded Republican Soldier. He’ll request that you defeat the turned citizens of his encampment. We’ll take you through the necessary steps to completion and how to defeat the Akashic Enemies.
On the road to Tabor, Clive discovers a gravely wounded republican soldier who tells him of the aetherflood that consumed his unit’s nearby encampment, rendering everyone in it Akashic. With his final breaths, the dying man asks Clive to slay his turned brothers-in-arms that they might not hurt any others.
How to Start the Bad Blood Side Quest in Final Fantasy 16¶
First things first, you’ll need to have completed the main story mission Things Fall Apart, and be on Cloak and Dagger. When those requirements have been met, head over to Wounded Republican Soldier who can be found in the Rymasov Flat sub-region which is located to the north of Tabor. Speak with him and inform you that a nearby encampment has been taken over by an aetherflood and wants you take out his friends to prevent them from hurting others.
Where to Find the Republican Army Encampment¶
Once you’re done speaking with the Wounded Republican Soldier, head northeast until you reach the Republican Army Encampment, then you’ll be greeted by multiple Akashic Scimitars and Steeds. These are regular enemies, so you’ll want to group them up with Ignition then you’ll want to use any Area of Effect (AoE) Abilities, such as Aerial Blast to gradually deplete their health. You’ll then want to make use of Magic Bursts and strong single target abilities like Heatwave to finish them off.
Should You Accept the Soldiers Challenge?¶
After you’ve cleared out the enemies, make your way over to the back of the area and speak with the Dying Republican Soldier to bring the quest to a close. Here you’ll be rewarded with Magicked Ash x100 and Meteorite x1 for your troubles. However, before you can continue exploring you’ll be presented with a choice “He can barely stand” or “Fine, If you insist.”. Both of these will result in the same outcome, so go with whatever you think sounds best.
