Final Fantasy 16 offers plenty of equipment for you to craft down at Blackthorne’s Forge at The Hideaway. As you reach the mid-point of Clive’s adventure, you’ll start gaining the ability to craft rarer equipment that requires more difficult to source materials. Electrum is one such material and this page will tell you where you can find it.
Electrum Location in FFXVI¶
If you’ve completed the Blacksmith’s Blues Side Quest back at the Hideaway, you may have noticed that there are two new pieces of Armor you can craft, the Drakeslayer’s Belt and the Drakeslayer’s Vambraces, both of which are far better than any other armor you’ll get for a while.
You may notice immediately though that you require three rarer Materials that you have yet to come across (well Scarletite you will have obtained from the Griffin as part of that Quest). To craft the Belt, you’ll need Electrum and if you look at the required materials list, you’ll spot a Hunt icon next to the material name.
That’s the first clue you need, the second is which particular Hunt is the one that drops it? Well, you’ll need to progress a bit until you reach the After the Storm Main Quest, at which point the Severian Mark will be available for hunting.
Severian Location¶
So now that you have the bill, make your way to the Imperial Province of Rosaria and teleport to Martha’s Rest. From there, exit via the lift to the west and head into Sorrowise. You’ll now need to make your way to the Fallen Ruins, which can be found to the northwest of this area.
Severian is one of the tougher Hunts at this stage of Final Fantasy XVI and thus, you’ll want to make sure you have all of your restoratives available to you. Severian’s lunge attack is its biggest threat, so ensure that you use Precision Dodge to avoid it! For a full strategy on Severian, check out our Severian strategy.
Your reward for besting Severian is the material you’ve been looking for, an Electrum. With this in hand, you can bring it back to Blackthorne at the Hideaway and use it to craft the Drakeslayer’s Belt.
