There are 50 Trophies to be obtained for Final Fantasy XVI with 40 Bronze, 6 Silver, 3 Gold and 1 Platinum. This roadmap Trophy guide will take you through how to get each of them efficiently as you play through the game.
Step 1 - Normal Playthrough, Side Quests, Hunts and Chronolith Trials¶
Your first objective in obtaining the Platinum is going through the Main Story on the Normal Difficulty whilst completing all the Side Quests and Notorious Marks. There are 76 Side Quests to complete throughout the game and you can find a full list of side quests here. Although there isn’t any Trophy related to completing them all, you’ll need to complete at least 90% of them in order to build up enough renown, so you can claim all of your Patron of Whispers rewards for the Careful Whisper Trophy. Some quests will also reward you with the required materials to craft the Gotterdammerung which is required for the Half Past Twilight Trophy.
As for Hunts, there are 32 to complete throughout the game and you can find a full list of all Hunts here. You’ll need to complete all of these as they lead to several different Trophies, such as the Think, Mark! (complete 10 hunts) and Hunter, Hunted (complete all hunts). Additionally, you’ll need to do these alongside the side quests to build up enough renown in order to claim all the patron of whispers rewards. Next up, there are multiple combat related trophies in the game and it’s recommended that you work on completing these throughout your first playthrough otherwise they’ll be harder to achieve when you’re playing on Final Fantasy Mode. Below you’ll find a list of walkthroughs we’ve done for the most challenging ones.

Once you’ve done the above and you’re coming to the end of your first playthrough, it’s recommended that you also complete the Chronolith Trials before moving onto Final Fantasy Mode otherwise you’re just making things more difficult for yourself. There are seven in the game and you can find a full list of all Chronolith Trials here.. If you’re having difficulty completing them, then check out the pages below where you’ll find a strategy for each of them:

Step 2 - Final Fantasy Mode Playthrough¶
After you’ve finished the story, you’ll want to visit the title screen and choose the option “New Game +”, then you’ll want to select the “Final Fantasy Mode” Difficulty. Here enemies are deadlier in NG+ and have remixed positions, so you’ll need to keep on top of your levels and equipment in FF Mode to keep ahead of the curve. If you’re having trouble getting through the FF Mode, then check out this page for tips on how to overcome it: Final Fantasy Mode Tips in FF16.
Additionally, you can equip the Cheat Rings as they don’t disable Trophies and they make battles much easier if you’re massively struggling. However, we recommend you equip The Wages of Warcraft Accessory (Increases AP earned in normal encounters by 25%) and complete the hunts on this playthrough, as you’ll need to master all abilities and as you may expect this will cost tons of AP. If you don’t already have it, then you can buy it from Charon’s Toll after the Cid the Outlaw Main Quest.
