The 
Crystalline Lifeline side quest in Final Fantasy 16 can be acquired in 
Martha’s Rest once you reach the Holding On main quest. Here you’ll find a person named Clarke and he has requested that you help him look for his 
Crystal. We’ll take you through the necessary steps to completion and where to find the Crystal
Speak with Clarke to begin the quest.
A clumsy fisherman from 
Martha’s Rest has dropped his only crystal, putting his livelihood in jeopardy. To make matters worse, it appears the crystal has been devoured by some of the local fauna… Clive is to find it, by any means necessary.
How to Start The Crystalline Lifeline Side Quest¶
Before you can begin the Crystalline Lifeline Side Quest you’ll need to progress through the game until you reach the Hideaway which should take you around 3 hours if you’re starting from the beginning. For those continuing on from the demo, then it should take you an extra hour. From this point, you’ll need to play for a few more hours until you reach the Main Quest Holding On. Here you’ll want to visit Martha’s Rest in 
The Imperial Province of Rosaria and speak with Clarke, Fishmonger.
Where To Find The Foul Crystal¶
You’ll be tasked with finding Clarke’s Crystal which he lost whilst exploring the marshes, so climb down to the ladder and slay the nearby Bog Crabs. However, before you focus on the Side Quest, we recommend you explore the nearby areas and look for Chests, as they’ll contain useful Crafting Materials and Accessories. The easiest way to do this is to group them up and use the 
Flames of Rebirths Ability to weaken them or even one shot them. If you haven’t unlocked this ability yet, then 
Heatwave is a good alternative.

After you’ve defeated all the crabs, the final one will drop you the Foul Crystal. Return to Clarke in Martha’s Rest and hand over the Foul Crystal and you’ll witness him using it to cool down his daily catch. Finally, the quest will come to a close and you’ll be rewarded with x10 
Wyrrite and x10 
Magicked Ash which are both useful crafting materials.
