The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Get the Desert Voe Outfit in Tears of the Kingdom

By
Nathan Garvin

The Gerudo Outfit in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a fan favorite, for reasons… well, we won’t speculate. Needless to say, players wanted to know if they could find this armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This page will cover how to find the Desert Voe outfit, the equivalent to the Gerudo Outfit in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Can You Get the Gerudo Outfit in Tears of the Kingdom?

Strictly speaking, you cannot obtain the Gerudo Outfit in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but the game has its own equivalent - the Desert Voe Outfit. While it doesn’t offer much in the way of defense, each piece of this armor does offer heat resistance, making it well worth your effort to get ahold of, even if you’re not fond of the aesthetics.

Buy the Desert Voe Headband from Saula in the Kara Kara Bazaar and she’ll tell you about a Secret Shop in Gerudo Town.

Where to Find the Desert Voe Headband

Acquiring the Desert Voe outfit is far from a straight-forward process, and your search will begin in the Kara Kara Bazaar, which is northeast of Gerudo Town, southwest of the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower. Once you reach this oasis in the desert, look for a merchant named Saula, who can be found west of the pond that gives life to this stretch of desert, peddling her only ware - the "Desert Voe Headband" iconDesert Voe Headband. Talk to her and she’ll intimate (or rather, flat out say) that she’ll tell you a secret if you purchase the headband. Do so (this will set you back 450 Rupees) and she’ll tell you about a secret shop that creates voe clothing, hidden behind the Fashion Passion store in Gerudo Town.

(1 of 4) To find this Secret Shop, jump into a well and smash some rocks down a side passage,

With that out of the way, you can now seek out the rest of the Desert Voe set, which means finding this secret shop. First step, make your way southwest to Gerudo Town (check out our How to Reach Gerudo Town page for information about navigating the sandstorm engulfing the Desert Rift!) and once you make it, be sure to activate "Soryotanog Shrine" iconSoryotanog Shrine to ensure you can just fast travel back here if you wish.

Once done, you’ll need to access "Gerudo Sanctuary" iconGerudo Sanctuary (check out the aforementioned How to Reach Gerudo Town for details on this, too), as the steps required to reach the sanctuary and the secret shop have a good bit of overlap.

The shop is along the eastern edge of Gerudo Town. The door’s coordinates are -3782, -2938, 0043, but the door is currently blocked. If you investigate, you’ll hear somebody mention that a crate was used to achieve this. The actual coordinate of the shop (or rather, the outfits you’re after) is -3792, -2924, 0043. To actually get into the shop, however, you’ll need to be sneaky and use the watery caverns running under the town. Seek out a well just left of the town’s main entrance (-3792, -2903, 0043) and jump down, Swim northwest and when you can stand, turn southwest and smash your way through some rocks obstructing a passage. There are a lot of rocks to clear here, so you may want to bring a spare hammer or two. Smash your way southwest until you reach a fork, at which point turn southeast and reduce some more rocks to rubble. Climb up to a higher ledge and obliterate some more rocks and work your way into a narrow chamber to the northeast, which is adorned by some pillars. "Ascend" iconAscend near these pillars and you should pop up in the store.

After some chatter, you’ll be free to shop. The "Desert Voe Spaulder" iconDesert Voe Spaulder will set you back 1,300 Rupees while the "Desert Voe Trousers" iconDesert Voe Trousers costs 650 Rupees. You can also buy "Snow Boots" iconSnow Boots for 1,300 Rupees and "Sand Boots" iconSand Boots for 1,200 Rupees. Finally, be sure to smash the crate blocking the door and exit via said door, as it will allow you to use the door on subsequent visits. No use breaking more hammers if you don’t have to.

How to Upgrade The Desert Voe Armor Set

To upgrade the set, unlock a Great Fairy and ask her to take a look at the armor once you have bought it. When you upgrade the set twice, it will also have the shock resistance ability. Here is the cost for upgrading the Desert Voe Set. To fully upgrade the set, you will need the following for all three pieces.
