Being in the middle of a storm in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom can be annoying. Lighting does a massive amount of damage that will certainly kill most players with a single hit. The guide below goes over how to avoid being struck by lightning and how to weaponize it in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom.
Why Does Lightning Keep Striking Me In Tears of The Kingdom?¶
If you are in an area where a storm is currently occurring, you have a chance of being struck by lightning if you meet a certain condition. This is having a piece of metal equipped to Link. This includes weapons, shields, and armor. Before lightning strikes, electricity will form around Link, and the amount will quickly increase. You also will likely see some lightning start striking nearby. Quickly go into your inventory and take off any items with metal on them.
If you come out of the menu and you are still accumulating electricity, then you will need to open your inventory and try again. Items like the Zora armor will attract lightning, so be careful.
How to Use Lighting to Your Advantage¶
Lightning storms aren’t always a bad thing. If you are being targeted by lightning and there are enemies nearby, consider weaponizing it. All you need to do is throw a metal weapon near a group of enemies, and lightning should strike there. If the strike doesn’t wipe them out, then the fire that the lightning causes afterward will.
