Shrines are a core mechanic in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as they were in Breath of the Wild, since they are needed to increase your maximum health and stamina. There are 152 Shrines spread across the Surface and Sky, and one of those is the Turakamik Shrine, located in the Gerudo Canyon area, just outside of the !Gerudo Desert.
Where to Find the Turakamik Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom¶
You will find the Turakmik Shrine in the Gerudo Canyon area, not too far from the Gerudo Canyon Stable, actually. While you’re following the road in that area, as if you were going to the Gerudo Desert, you will pass underneath a large rock overhang. While standing underneath it, use Ascend to get to the top of that rock, which is right where the shrine will be located.
Hidden Metal - Turakamik Shrine Walkthrough¶
The idea behind the Turakamik Shrine is to find a way to connect an electric current from one path, to another. This is definitely a puzzle and you might need to think outside of the box a little bit, especially in regards to what to do. In the first room, you will see a ball hanging on a chain, which will be electrified. Near it will be another ball on a chain, except it’s a very short chain. Your first instinct might be to use Ultrahand to pull on the shorter chain, but it doesn’t give and that’s its full length.
If you grab the longer chain and touch it to the short one, that looks like it’s the solution, as the giant gear to the right will start moving. However, as soon as you let go, the gear will stop. The idea here is to grab the longer chain and bring it over to the smaller one, then attach them together, which will complete the circuit. Do that and ride the gear to the next puzzle, which is similar to the first. For the second puzzle, you have two balls on a chain, with both of them being a similar length. The only problem is that they are slightly further apart, so you won’t be able to connect them the same way.
There is a little trick, though, as you can grab one and pull it left or right, then let go and cause it to swing. As it’s moving, quickly grab the other one and bring it over, attaching it to the first whenever they are close enough. Completing the circuit here will cause some alternating platforms to go in and out of the wall. Use Ascend to get on them, then make your way to the third, and final, puzzle. Before touching anything here, climb the smaller gear against the wall there and enter the little area with the large gear.
You can then ride the larger gear up to the ledge above, where you’ll find the shrine’s chest, which contains a Strong Zonaite Shield. Alright, with that out of the way, all that remains is the final puzzle here. Hop back down to the ground and look at the pole connecting the two smaller gears. If you choose Ultrahand, you can see that you can grab it, so go ahead and do that. Place that pole on top of the two poles sticking out of the wall on the other side of the room. For the final step, grab the ball and chain on the ground and wrap it around the pole closest to it. This should complete the circuit, opening the door to the altar and the Light of Blessing.
