Some of the side quests in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will require you to do other quests first. One such case is the Pride of the Gerudo side quest, in !Gerudo Town. This is a side quest that is a bit later, as you won’t be able to do it before completing the !Lightning Temple, as the sand shroud will be covering the town before that.
Where to Start Pride of the Gerudo in Tears of the Kingdom¶
Once you complete the Lightning Temple, the sand shroud will dissipate in the desert, and you will be able to see where you’re going. This will allow you to finish The Missing Owner side quest, which must be done before you have access to this one. Upon doing so, you will be able to speak to Isha at the accessory store, who will begin the side quest for you. She wants to thank you for rescuing her, by creating you a strong weapon and shield. However, you are tasked with gathering the materials yourself, which consist of the following:
- Gerudo Scimitar
- Gerudo Shield
- Diamonds (x4)
- Flint (x10)
Where to Find the Gerudo Scimitar in Tears of the Kingdom¶
The Gerudo Scimitar can be found throughout the Gerudo region, either in some chests or as a drop from a Like Like in the area. However, you will always be able to find one in the Ancient Prison Ruins, since it’s a normal item found in the open (so, it will respawn). The entrance to this area is located in the Palu Wasteland area, and there will be plenty of empty cells there, as well as Gibdos. If you check the cells throughout the place, one of them will have the scimitar on the ground. Alternatively, completing The Mysterious Eighth side quest will grant access to the Gerudo Sanctuary, where you will also find one.
Where to Find the Gerudo Shield in Tears of the Kingdom¶
The Gerudo Shield is similar to the scimitar, as you might find it in a chest, or from a Like Like, in the region. You are also able to find one on top of a pillar, in the northern portion of the desert. Go to the Great Cliffs area up there, then look to the northeast to spot some pillars. There will be some enemies around here, so be careful, but one of those pillars will have the shield on top of it. The Gerudo Sanctuary mentioned above will also have one.
As for the Flint, that can be gotten from just about any ore node, and for Diamonds, visit the Where the Find Diamonds page for more info on those. Once you have everything gathered, return to Isha in the town and she will construct both the Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker shield, finishing up the quest.
