Shrines are a huge part of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as you won’t be able to increase your overall health and stamina without them. While some shrines might be hidden or are a part of side quests, there’s a good number of them that are out in the open, making them a lot easier to find. Such is the case for the Gemimik Shrine, located in the Akkala region. This page will detail where to find that shrine, as well as how to complete the puzzle within it.
Where to Find the Gemimik Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom¶
As mentioned above, the Gemimik Shrine is located in the Akkala region, at the center of the Rist Peninsula. This is the spiral peninsula just northeast of Tarrey Town, one of the more important locations in that area. You can simply follow the spiral, if you wanted, but there will be Octoroks, Bokoblins and Aerocudas along the way. If you can find some items to construct a boat, you could use that, along with a Fan and Steering Stick, to keep the waters and avoid most enemies.
Turbine Power - Gemimik Shrine Walkthrough¶
When you first enter the shrine, you will see some kind of device in the middle of the room, along with a circle of unlit torches surrounding it. To the side of that will be another device that is channeling electricity, but the line from that device isn’t complete, so it’s not actually providing electricity to the device in the center. Look for the metal board near the second device mention and use Ultrahand to place it in the gap, so the electric current is now complete.
Once you do this, the central device will now be spinning, which is what you want to happen. Head on over to the ramp and look for the propeller on the ground, so pick it up with Ultrahand and attach it to the top of the spinning device. This will now create a wind current, shooting straight up, allowing you to use your Paraglider to gain some air in the room. Do this and look for a ledge on the one side of the room, while in the air, with a Flame Emitter that is already turned on.
Your goal is to land on that platform, grab a !Flame Emitter and bring it back to the ground. However, ignore that for a few seconds and look on the opposite side of that platform to spy another one. This is where the chest is located, so fly on over to it and open it up for a Mighty Zonaite Shield. Upon getting that, return to the !Flame Emitter platform and toss one down to the ground. You will need to light all of the torches here, but there is a slight problem. When you’ve activated the emitter and are lighting the torches, you will find out that some sprinklers will also activate after a few seconds, putting the flames out.
So, you’re at a standstill with lighting the torches? Well, the solution is a lot simpler than you might think. You used the propeller to create some wind to boost you to the upper platforms, but you can also use it to light the torches, too. Grab the !Flame Emitter and attach it to the top of the propeller, which will spin it around and light all of the torches in one go. You will have completed the puzzle now and the door to the Light of Blessing will be open.
