While a bunch of shrines in Tears of the Kingdom can be a breeze with very simple mechanics, there are certainly some that can leave you scratching your head a little. One of these is the Mayam Shrine, as while the prompt is there to unlock it, you must do a little exploring in order to gain access.
With this guide, we’ll be taking you through both the !Mayam Shrine location in Tears of the Kingdom as well as how to complete the attached puzzle so you can knock another of these awkward shrines off your list.
Where to Find Mayam Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom¶
Your first task for completing the !Mayam Shrine is actually finding it. This is not one that you can simply stumble across as you make your way through Hyrule as it isn’t actually on the surface, meaning you’ll have to take to the skies once more.
The place you’ll need to start though if you haven’t done too much sky exploration is Thyplo Ruins which is pretty much dead center of the map but at the northernmost point. Here is a map marker if you’ve not managed to make your way up there yet. Once here, make sure you activate the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower as this is your easiest path upward.
Take the boost from the tower, launching yourself into the sky. This will enable you to easily glide down to one of the platforms within the Northern Sky Hyrule Archipelago. After landing, you should be able to see the shrine location on the right side of this collection of islands but the actual shrine itself is missing.
How to Unlock Mayam Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom¶
After getting up to the !Mayam Shrine, as previously stated, you cannot enter it as you usually would. This is because there is a Shrine Quest tied to it called The North Hyrule Sky Crystal, and this must be completed in order for you to get access. Head over to our guide for more information.
This is a short Shrine Quest, but one that can be a little annoying, so we’ve written up a full guide on how to complete this also. If you’re having issues, give that a read and you’ll have it unlocked in no time.
Once you do so, the shrine itself has no additional challenge, it’s one of those shrines that you can simply head into and pick up a reward. Like others of this ilk, you’ll be securing a Magic Rod for your efforts as well as the all-important Blessing of !Light.
