Once you are finally venturing out into the Hyrule, you will start encountering Side Adventures which are a new addition to TOTK and this page will navigate you through the necessary to completing the Hateno Village Research Lab.
Robbie says that he can equip your Purah Pad with a sensor that can detect specific things. He wants you to come to the Purah Pad Research Lab near Hateno Village.
Where to Start Hateno Village Research Lab¶
Once you’ve made your way down onto the Hyrule Surface after completing the tutorials up on the Great Sky Island, you’ll want to complete the Main Quest A Mystery in the Depths, then speak with Robbie in Lookout Landing to begin Hateno Village Research Lab Side Adventure. Fast travel to the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower and glide down to the south and to find the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab. Enter the building and speak with Robbie, then he’ll take your Purah Pad and attach a Sensor which will alert if you’re near any Shrines.
Where to Find Mayasiar Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom¶
Walk towards where the Sensor is pointing you, making sure to not get too close to the one door there, to trigger some more dialogue with Robbie. Exit the lab and head down to the bottom of the hill, where you’ll find the Retsam Forest Cave entrance to the right of a small waterfall. Alternatively, look for the little alcove not too far down the hill, where you should see some breakable rocks that is the entrance to the same cave. Proceed inside and work your way through the cave whilst defeating the Like Likes, harvesting the Brightcaps and mining the Ore Nodes. Eventually, you’ll reach the Mayahisik Shrine, so interact with it to activate a fast travel point (feel free to do it, too, as there isn’t a puzzle inside and is just the chest and Light of Blessing) and you can come back to it later. Finally, return to the lab and speak with Robbie to give him the good news and the Side Adventure will come to a close.
