The !Rikonasum Lightroot is located in the northern part of the Depths, almost directly under the Korok Forest region, also known as the !Great Hyrule Forest on the surface map. This lightroot can be difficult to reach if you’re trying to approach it from within the depths, but there’s a quick way which involves going down the !Minshi Woods Chasm, which is southeast of the !Great Hyrule Forest. We’ll show you exactly how to get there on this page.
Go Down the Minshi Woods Chasm to Reach the Depths¶
The first thing you need to do before you can find the Rikonasum Lightroot using this method, is locate the Minshi Woods Chasm. This is just southeast of the Great Hyrule Forest on the surface map, and the closest fast travel point is either the Ekochiu Shrine, which is located directly south of the chasm, or the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower, which is further to the southeast. If you don’t have these unlocked, it’ll be a slightly longer journey from Lookout Landing, which is located to the southwest.
Once you’re at the !Minshi Woods Chasm, be ready to jump down and paraglide towards the northwest as you near the bottom. If you have a lot of stamina you may be able to avoid the gloom pools altogether, but if not you’ll have to tread carefully to avoid them as you make your way north. It’s a good idea to bring some Brightbloom Seeds along so that you can light up the way to the northwest, but you should already be able to see the Eknupup Lightroot in the distance. This is what you need to reach before you can make the final part of the journey.
How to Get to the Rikonasum Lightroot in TotK¶
The Eknupup Lightroot is just northeast of the Rikonasum Lightroot. After you’ve reached it, look to the southwest to see a large rock surface which looks a bit like a branch. You should be able to see most of this after activating the light from the !Eknupup Lightroot, but be sure to fire some Brightbloom Seeds if you’re having trouble. There’s a fair amount of gloom pools on this surface and the last thing you want is to fall into them and die at this stage.
Keep following the surface as you jump over some of the gloom, which you’ll inevitably touch some of along the way. When you encounter the more greenish rock, follow it upwards towards the northwest, still avoiding the gloom, until you reach the top. You should be able to turn southwest at this point to see a stone platform with some steps leading up to it below. The !Rikonasum Lightroot is just to the right (northwest) of this, and all you need to do is paraglide down to it from here.
If you’re still struggling to find the !Rikonasum Lightroot, see the video below where we take you through the steps described above.
