There are a lot of armor sets in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, but few are as confusing as the Zora Armor set. This is due to most of the set being hidden for you until you complete the Water Temple. Luckily, you only need the Zora Armor to climb waterfalls, but having the full set is nice as it’s easy to upgrade early on. The guide below goes over where to find the final two pieces of the Zora set, the Zora Greaves and Zora Helm in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom.
Where to Get The Zora Armor¶
This is the easiest piece of the Zora set to get, as it’s part of the main quest. You simply need to clear the muck off the statue in Zora’s Domain and then trade Yona an Ancient Arowana to complete repairs of the item. After this, you will be granted the Zora Armor. You only need one piece to complete the Water Temple, and you won’t be able to get the other two pieces until you speak with Yona and Chroma after clearing Sidon of the Zora. For more information on getting the Zora Armor, check out our guide here. The armor will allow you to both swim faster and swim up waterfalls.
Where to Get The Zora Greaves¶
Once you have completed the Water Temple, speak with Yona in Zora’s Domain, she will give you the A Token of Friendship side quest. This quest sends you back to the Ancient Zora Waterworks that you used to open the bridge to the sky. Go back to East Reservoir Lake and jump into the whirlpool. Once inside, you will want to make your way to the first room, find the large pillar and walk behind it to find a hole and jump down. Soon you will see a Stone Talus. You can choose to defeat him or keep going. You will also see a waterfall that you can go through behind it are the Zora Greaves.
Where to Get The Zora Helm¶
For the Zora Helm, you will need to speak with Chroma and Khira in the throne room in Zora’s Domain. This will start the quest, The Never-Ending Lecture. You will be told that the Zora Helm is on a fish island. This is the same island where you shot your arrow to open the path to the Ancient Zora Waterworks. Go back to Mipha Court, and ride the waterfall back up using your Zora Armor. You will want to look at the edge of the island. You should see the entrance to a small cave. It can easily be seen from the island’s edge. Glide down inside, and you will find the chest with the Zora Helm inside.
How to Upgrade The Zora Armor Set¶
As with most full sets in the game, you can upgrade the Zora set by visiting a Great Fairy, and it has a base defense of 3. Upgrading this set helps you to swim faster and dash without consuming as much stamina, making it great for exploring areas in Hyrule with a lot of water. The chart below contains the items you need to upgrade the set all the way to 20. Keep in mind that you will need to do each upgrade level three times, one for each of the armor pieces.
Defense Level | Items Needed | Rupees Needed |
---|---|---|
5 | x3 Lizalfos Horn | 10 Rupees |
8 | x5 Lizalfos Talons, x5 Hyrule Bass | 50 Rupees |
12 | x5 Blue Lizalfos Horn, x3 Lizalfos Tails, x3 Hearty Bass | 200 Rupees |
20 | x5 Black Lizalfos horns , x5 Blue Lizalfos Tails, x20 Opal | 500 Rupees |
You will need to have all four Great Fairies unlocked to upgrade your armor sets to 20. Luckily, the Zora set isn’t hard to upgrade, as Lizalfos are relatively easy enemies to deal with. The Opal can also be easily mined from Ore Deposits around the map making this a good set to upgrade all the way once you have access to it.
