How to Begin The Treasure Hunters Side Quest in TOTK¶
This is another simple Side Quest that you can complete at any point during Link’s adventure. There are no requirements, although as a result, the reward is nothing to write home about. Still, you’ll learn some valuable information for completing this Side Quest which will lead to more lucrative treasure, think of this as more of an introduction.
To get the quest underway, you need to locate Rauru Hillside, located across the water to the northeast of Hyrule Castle. If you’ve already been to Woodland Stable, you’ll most likely have access to Ekochiu Shrine, which you should fast travel to. From here, head to the path south, and then follow it west at the intersection until you reach Rauru Settlement Ruins. Look to the north here to find a bottomless bog, and, overlooking it, Domidak who will begin this Side Quest.
How to Complete The Treasure Hunters Side Quest in TOTK¶
You’ll learn from Domidak and !Prissen that they’re treasure hunters, and that they’re trying to work out how to get to that Treasure Chest out in the bog, the issue being that there is nowhere safe to stand. Fortunately for Link, he has ways around this, giving you the perfect opportunity to swoop in there before them and snag the riches for yourself.
If you take a look to the south of the bog, you’ll find a !Hudson Construction materials cache that you can put to work. You don’t need to build anything extravagant, just use Ultrahand to pick up the two largest, and longest, planks of wood and fuse them together. Pick this makeshift bridge up and carry it across the rocks toward the bog and then place it down so that you’re able to walk on it. It won’t reach all the way, but you can walk to the end, use Ultrahand once more to grab the chest and then drop it on the makeshift bridge next to you.
Unfortunately, opening it up only rewards you with three Bomb Flowers, looks like nobody has lost out here. Return to the Treasure Hunters overlooking the bog and speak with them, they’ll acknowledge that you’ve snagged the chest for yourself and accidentally let slip about a legendary Bandit Treasure Hunter by the name of Misko. This serves as an introduction to the Misko Treasure questline that will provide far more lucrative rewards in the form of unique armor.
