You will run into a number of different side quests in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with some of them granting you weapons as the reward. In fact, there’s less than a handful that give you very powerful weapons, modeled after the Champions from Breath of the Wild. This page will focus on getting the Lightscale Trident, which is the Champion weapon of Mipha.
Where to Start Glory of the Zora in Tears of the Kingdom¶
As with the majority of the side quests in Zora’s Domain, you will need to wait until you’ve completed the Water Temple, which is part of the Regional Phenomena main quest. Once you’ve done that, head to !Zora’s Domain and speak to Dento, who is found past the general shop in the area. He mentions that he has a weapon for you, but needs the ingredients in order to make it. To be specific, he will need a Zora Spear, 3 x Diamonds, and 5 x Flint.
Where to Get a Zora Spear in Tears of the Kingdom¶
The first item on the list is the Zora Spear, which is something you might already have in your inventory. If you’ve explored the Lanayru area prior to doing the Zora’s portion of Regional Phenomena, then you might have stumbled upon the Mired in Muck side quest, which was right next to the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower. Completing this very simple side quest will reward you with a Zora Spear, but it’s possible that you might have used it prior to having access to Glory of the Zora. That means you will need to have another source of the weapon.
There are many caves throughout the Zora region, and if you explore some of them, you may run into Like Likes. These creatures drop a chest upon defeat, with the contents of said chest being randomly generated. The ones in this region have the option to yield the Zora Spear, too, but this isn’t guaranteed. If you do want an easy option for the spear, there is an enemy spawn west of Ralis Pond, across the Zora River, where the enemy will always be wielding a Zora Spear. You can find that enemy at this map location right here. This Lizalfos will respawn after every Blood Moon.
Where to Get Diamonds in Tears of the Kingdom¶
Diamonds are one of the rarer gems in the game, which makes sense, as they are one of the better sources of money, with each one selling for 500 rupees. There are many sources of these, such as a few Shrines offering them as rewards from the chest. You can also get them as rewards from a few side quests, or even purchase them from the one vendor at Goron City, although those cost 1,000 rupees a piece. If you wish to find them in the wild, you can find the Rare Ore Nodes or the Stone Talus (Rare) enemies. For more information on specific locations, head on over to the How to Get Diamonds page.
Where to Get Flint in Tears of the Kingdom¶
Of the three items you need to procure for this side quest, Flint is probably the easiest and definitely something you should have plenty of at this point, especially if you explored and broke ore nodes a lot. You will get flint from just about any ore node you find, with a lot of them found in caves and around the Eldin region. You will need five pieces of it, though, to construct the weapon.
Once you have all of the necessary items, bring them back to Dento to receive the Lightscale Trident. This weapon may not seem all too good, at first glance, but it’s quite sturdy in terms of durability, and if you get wet while wielding it, the attack power will double. Should the weapon break, then you can return to Dento with the same materials as before to get another one. However, there is an easier method to repairing the spear, which you can read about over on the Lightscale Trident page.
