The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Defeat Yunobo

By
Jessica Dillon

!Goron City is suffering from an overabundance of a mysterious new food item called Rock Roast. Many of the Gorons in the city have become lazy and hateful, including the friendly Yunobo. If you want to reach the "Fire Temple" iconFire Temple, then you will need to fight !Yunobo and snap him out of his strange mood. The guide below goes over where to find !Yunobo in Goron City and how to defeat him in a fight in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom.

To start the story quest in Eldin, speak with the Goron’s at the city center.

Where to Find Yunobo in Goron City

To find !Yunobo you will need to find the three Goron in the city center. They will be near the giant Rock Roast pile. Once you speak with them, !Yunobo will show up and start barking orders. After watching his strange behavior for a bit, he will order "Offrak" iconOffrak and "Slergo" iconSlergo back to YunoboCo HQ. To get there, follow the path leading out of town past the "Marakuguc Shrine" iconMarakuguc Shrine. You will find a cart system. Use the cart on the right with the nearby fan to traverse the track. This will lead you straight to !YunoboCo HQ.

How to Defeat Yunobo at YunoboCo HQ

Once you reach YunoboCo HQ, you want to look for a nearby cave where Offrak and Slergo are standing guard. Be sure to equip your Flamebreaker Armor if you have it, or step inside !YunoboCo HQ to buy it for 700 Rupees. Speak with the two small Gorons to gain entrance to where Yunobo is talking with "Princess Zelda" iconPrincess Zelda. After a cutscene, !Yunobo will begin attacking you with a charge attack. You will need to dodge this as soon as he starts charging up, as he is incredibly fast. The goal is to get !Yunobo to slam into rocks. When this is done successfully, stars will appear around his head, and you will be able to strike him.

!Yunobo needs to be hit three times to break the mask and stop his rampage. Just position Link in front of a flatter rock in the cave, move when he starts charging up, and hit him when you see the stars. After the fight is finished, a rock slide will take place. Use !Yunobo’s ability to slam him into the rocks and free the group. You will now head up to !Death Mountain to try and locate the missing Princess Zelda.

(1 of 4) !Yunono will begin attacking Link after the cutscene.
