The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Ruffian-Infested Village - How to Defeat The Monsters Invading Lurelin

By
Jessica Dillon

There are a lot of side adventures to be found in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom. One of the hardest ones in the game centers around clearing monsters out of "Lurelin Village" iconLurelin Village. This is due to only high-level enemies inhabiting the village. The guide below goes over how to deal with the monster invasion in Lurelin and where to find the hidden enemy.

How to Defeat The Monsters Around Lurelin Village

Once you get to Lurelin Village in the southern part of East Necluda, on the Faron boarder. you will see that it is under attack. The village has been invaded by "Black Moblin" iconBlack Moblins, "Blue Moblin" iconBlue Moblins, White Moblins, "Black Lizalfos" iconBlack Lizalfos, and a "Black Boss Bokoblin" iconBlack Boss Bokoblin. There are five different sights in the village that have monster groups in them, and oftentimes the ones in the village itself will try to fight you at once. For this reason, we do not recommend taking on "Ruffian-Infested Village" iconRuffian-Infested Village until you are much further into the game with good weapons and armor. The Black "Moblin" iconMoblins are extremely tough on their own, but the addition of the "Lizalfos" iconLizalfos makes the fight almost impossible for unprepared players.

The best way to take on the monsters is by entering the village through the road that leads down the cliff. This will lead you to the first group of monsters. This group contains the Black Lizalfos, making it especially dangerous. One of the best ways to deal with these enemies is by freezing them to keep them all from rushing you at once. This can be done using "White Chuchu Jelly" iconWhite Chuchu Jelly. The next group will contain the White Moblin. You should also climb up to any vantage points you can find so that you have some protection from the group.

Work your way around the village. Once it’s clear, climb up the tall platform directly in front of the pirate ship and glide down. You will want to stay high up where the monsters can’t get to you, it’s best to attack with arrows, and once again, freezing enemies, including the Black "Boss Bokoblin" iconBoss Bokoblin, can help to deal extra damage. Try not to fight these enemies up close if possible. On top of the ship’s rear, you will find a Lizalfos with a wand, using arrows to quickly take him out once the rest of the monsters are defeated.

Where to Find The Last Monster in Lurelin Village

If you have done all of the above and still have some health on your monster bar, then search around the village. After a few minutes, all of the monsters will return to their starting points. If you have looked around and still can’t find the monster you are missing, then chances are you didn’t check the well. Near the center of town is the Lurelin Well. It will have smoke rising out of it. Jump down to find a single Black Moblin and take him out. Once all the monsters are clear, "Rozel" iconRozel and "Bolson" iconBolson will come down. The next part of the side adventure will begin, "Lurelin Village Restoration Project" iconLurelin Village Restoration Project.
