Shrine Quests are a special kind of side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as they are needed to open up one of the many Shrines in the game. You will need to hunt down a crystal and return it to the shrine in order to open it up, where you can obtain the Light of Blessing within the place.
Where to Find the Kumamayn Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom¶
This particular shrine (Kumamayn Shrine) is located in the sky, in the Necluda Sky Archipelago, which is to the southeast. In order to get up there, you will need to find and complete the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower in East Necluda. Upon solving the little puzzle and opening up the tower, you will be able to launch yourself into the sky from it. Once you regain control up in the sky, immediately deploy your Paraglider and start moving to the east/southeast, where you should see a series of small floating islands.
You will want to find one with a Spring on it, as this will allow you to bounce up to one of the higher floating isles. Between the springs and Ascend, you should be able to glide over to the cross-shaped island to the southeast, where the shrine will be located on the northern end. The crystal is missing, of course, and the beam will point you to the nearby island, where you will have to defeat a Flux Construct III to get the crystal, as it’s attached to the creature.
Flux Construct III Boss Fight in Tears of the Kingdom¶
The Flux Construct III is a fairly simple boss, once you realize the little trick to handling the boss. The construct is made up of a bunch of blocks, with one block being its weak point. It will switch around the position of this weak point every few seconds, so you won’t be able to really do much to this enemy by shooting arrows at it. What you need to do is switch to Ultrahand, then grab the weak block whenever you have an opportunity. With it in hand, just pull the weak point towards you and the construct will eventually crumble, leaving it open to attacks.
At the beginning, the boss will likely just attempt to crush you by “teleporting” to your location and slamming the ground. Just move away from it whenever it does this attack to avoid the slam. Another attack it can do is forming a cube, and trying to slam the ground near Link. This is one of the more annoying attacks, since it might be difficult to access the weak block. Eventually, you will see another attack, where the construct will make all of its blocks flat, with one or two (including the weak one) remaining on top of that platform.
It will stay in the air and periodically throw blocks at you. For this particular arena, there are springs all over the place, so you can use those to get on top and strike the weak point. Otherwise, wait until the construct tosses the blocks, then use Recall on one and ride it back to the top of the platform.
Once you defeat the construct, you will now need to bring the crystal back to the shrine. Bring it back to the little island that’s connected to the one with the construct, where you should notice some Spring contraption that’s already built. Remove the Stake from it, then place it so the springs are facing the island with the shrine, but make sure it’s tilted to avoid shooting the crystal off the island (it’ll respawn at the arena, should this happens). Place the crystal in front of the springs, then strike it to launch it over.
If it falls, recalibrate the springs and try again. Once you finally get the crystal over to the island, use the normal springs to launch yourself up into the air, then use the Paraglider to float over to the island. Bring the crystal to the shrine to open it up, then go inside and open the chest for a Zonaite Bow and head to the altar for the Light of Blessing.
