Shrines are one of the core gameplay elements in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Scattered throughout Hyrule, shrines typically require you to solve some sort of puzzle or combat trial, upon the completion of which you’ll be rewarded with a Light of Blessing and potentially equipment. Shrines can also serve as fast travel points - all you have to do is interact with them. Since completing shrines will make your character stronger and provide exploration footholds, it’s essential that you conquer them whenever possible. This page will provide a walkthrough for Iun-orok Shrine.
Where to find Iun-orok Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom¶
You can attempt any of the 152 shrines at any point throughout your adventure in Hyrule. However, some shrines are located in areas which require you to equip specific types of armor or eat certain foods in order to combat the extreme temperatures. However, this isn’t something you need to worry about for this shrine, so you’ll want to fast travel to the Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower and glide down to the southwest until you drop down into a gap splitting the Piper Ridge and Mount Rhoam Islands into two.
Here you’ll want to hug the left wall until you find a small hole which leads into a cave, then you’ll want to drop to the bottom and follow the path along to the right to reach the shrine entrance. However, the paths are blocked by large walls of stone, so you’ll want to Fuse any of your weapons with the nearby rocks to break through.
How to Complete the Iun-orok Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom¶
When you enter the Iun-orok Shrine you’ll notice that the objective of this shrine is focused on the balls and targets, so this first area is treated more like a tutorial which will prepare you for the tougher challenges ahead. Here you’ll see a single ball and balls-eye below. Pick up the ball on the left with Ultrahand and drop it onto the center of the ramp and wait for it to hit the target, then wait for the door to open before heading into the next room.
This time around you’ll have to work with two balls and a ramp which is positioned with more of an angle, so you’ll want to use Ultrahand and attach the balls together side by side, then place the balls onto the ramp. Having a ball on each side of the ramp will balance themselves out, allowing them to simply move down the ramp and hit the target without falling off. Proceed into the third room and you’ll be greeted by three balls.
How to Get the Iun-orok Shrine Chest¶
Before you work on completing the final puzzle, there is a chest in the back left corner, so pick up the small ball and bring it towards the where the chest is located, then tuck it into the corner and raise it in the air and let go. Hop on top and use Recall and wait for the ball to lift you up before jumping down towards the chest. Inside you’ll find Arrows x10. Jump back down and you’ll face the final ramp which is a lot trickier than the previous ones, but we found a sneaky way to make it a lot easier.
Attach the three balls together and then rotate them until the largest ball is at the bottom, then walk down towards the bulls-eye. Have the large ball touch the balls-eye whilst you’re holding it, then let go and the smaller ball should touch the balls-eye, causing it to open. Finally, interact with the altar to claim your Light of Blessing.
