There are quite a few quests to take on in Hateno Village. Many of them will link back to the Hateno mayoral election, and the whole quest chain will likely take you several hours to complete. You can find a girl named Koyin at the Hateno farm, where she has lost a bottle in the farm pond. The guide below goes over how to get the bottle out of the Hateno farm pond in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom.
Hateno Village Mayoral Election Questline¶
While Koyin’s quest may not seem that special on it’s own, it’s part of a massive quest for Hateno village. There are a total of six side adventures and one side quest that are part of this quest line. Here are the links to the questline.

How to Get Koyin’s Letter Out of The Pond¶
You can find Koyin at the Hateno farm’s pond, where she is staring out into the water at a floating bottle. Speak with her to start the quest. You will need to get the bottle back beside her, but you can’t just swim out to it and grab it. You will need to make a bridge out of the logs and boards to your right. The boards are leaning against the shed, and there are plenty of trees nearby that you can cut down for logs. Just make sure the bridge is two logs wide. The goal is to make a long enough bridge to get close enough to use Ultrahand on the bottle. Once you have it in your grasp, walk back towards the shore.
You will want to drop the bottle next to Koyin on the dock and then speak with her again. She will open the bottle and learn about a forgotten Hateno recipe. Once this is done, head inside the farmhouse, where you and Koyin will make the first batch of Hateno Cheese. This item is part of the Hateno Election quest chain, so don’t cook it. If you do, then you can buy more from Koyin. After you get the cheese, Koyin’s shop will be open, and you will be done with this side adventure. After you have finished with Koyin, be sure to speak with Mayor Reede.
You can also use White Chuchu jelly or something else with a freezing property on an arrow and make a platform in the water to stand on. Saves building a long bridge.
